Hey y’all! I’m a Texas based realtor serving Collin and Dallas county families by helping them finding a house that feels like home.
As summer winds down and we welcome the arrival of fall, September in the Dallas-Fort Worth area offers so many fun and exciting things to do. Whether you’re looking to enjoy one last summer barbecue over Labor Day, get into the festive spirit at a local festival, or get organized for the holidays ahead, there’s something for everyone this month. As Dallas realtor who loves all that our city has to offer, I’ve put together a list of my favorite things to do in DFW in September 2024.
Get outside and celebrate with family and friends. Send summer out with a bang this year. Try one of these recipes at your Labor Day gathering.
Come out for the Mexican Independence Day Celebration at OSRC on September 14, 2024! All ages are welcome to enjoy fantastic food and vibrant entertainment with mariachi and baile folklórico.
Texas’s top food festival is back! Enjoy dishes from over 30 vendors featuring tacos, burgers, wings, barbecue, and more. Plus, explore a variety of small businesses offering clothing, accessories, and other goods.
Taste of Trophy Club, or “feast-ival” as they call it, highlights the diverse dining options in Trophy Club with various delicious food, live music, and family-friendly activities.
Head out to the West Main Arts Festival! Celebrate emerging artists, musicians, and food truck creators showcasing their talents. Experience a vibrant atmosphere where creativity flourishes, community spirit shines, and local talent dazzles! September 14, Noon-7 pm.
The Plano Balloon Festival features a spectacular array of hot air balloons, family-friendly activities, live music, and delicious food, creating a colorful and exciting experience for all.
The Irving Margarita Festival offers a fun-filled day with various margaritas, live entertainment, and tasty food, making it a lively celebration of flavors and festivities.

Early September will be kickoff time for both NFL and College Football. Time to tailgate, have watch parties, and cheer on your favorite teams!
The kids are back at school. It’s time to get back into a routine. The family can begin cooking and incorporating healthy habits into their daily schedule.
Labor Day deals are a real thing. Stash some of your holiday sale finds to lighten your shopping load in the Fall.
Set aside an evening to connect with the family. Get out some of your family’s favorite board games and have some fun.
Do some different shopping and go antiquing or thrifting. DFW has unique antique and thrift stores filled with wonder- fully exciting items.
Take a little time to go through your computer and organize your files. Then, delete the files that are no longer needed. This will declutter your virtual workspace.
With so many in our community in need, September is a great time to volunteer with local organizations. Let’s help get people back on their feet.
September in DFW is such a fun time with so much to see and do. I hope this list gives you some inspiration for how to enjoy this time of year now that the temperatures are cooling down.
